About the Role
As a Pharmacy Technician at LifeSpan Pharmacy, you will play a critical role in supporting pharmacists to ensure the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. Your work will directly impact patient health outcomes by accurately preparing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing essential information to customers. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and pharmacy protocols to uphold the highest quality of care. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both healthcare professionals and patients. Ultimately, your contribution will help LifeSpan Pharmacy deliver exceptional pharmaceutical services that promote community health and well-being.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Manage inventory by receiving, storing, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies and medications.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries and guiding them on medication usage and safety.
- Perform routine tasks such as labeling prescriptions and maintaining patient records.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe working environment within the pharmacy.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Indiana.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medication safety standards.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software and basic computer literacy.
- Ability to comply with all regulatory and safety guidelines related to pharmacy operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of infection control practices beyond standard pharmacy protocols.
- Strong communication skills and experience in customer service.
