The Executive Director is responsible for the daily operations and quality of personal care provided to clients, and will maintain a leadership role for the planning and achievement of adjectives that are consistent with the company, business and financial goals. This position will be responsible for several key roles for the company. This includes the following major areas:
- Manage day to day operations of the Agency.
- May designate in writing associates to act on behalf of or perform any or all responsibilities of the manager.
- Develop company and organizational goals.
- Conduct client satisfaction reviews in accordance with the client satisfaction review policy.
- Remain informed and educated about personal service agency regulations and standards as well as management issues.
- Promote interdepartmental cooperation and communication, which may result in mediation of faculty/staff disputes.
- Develop associate excellence through recruitment, retention, competency training, motivation and reward.
- Establish performance goals with supervisors and evaluate their performance.
- Participate in strategic, short-range, and long-range planning for educational, client care, research, revenue, and public relations programs.
- Manage, control, coordinate, and supervise the fiscal activities of the agency, including funding development, budget negotiations, generation of patient care revenue, and contract preparation, negotiation, and approval.
- Coordinates special department activities, including conferences, workshops, and other functions.
- Monitor the record system and statistical reporting system for proper documentation, planning and evaluation.
- Develop policies focused on client care in collaboration with the staff and the owners/officers.
- Oversee care delivery to ensure that clients’ needs are met.
- Monitor and take reasonable steps to ensure: a. Client rights are exercised. b. Compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws. c. Compliance with established policies and procedures. d. Compliance with the client’s service plan.
- Ensure that the numbers and qualifications of personnel available to provide and supervise services are sufficient to implement the service plan.
- Assure accuracy of public information material and activities.
- Implement performance improvement priorities.
- Must have previous experience in healthcare. Experience in home care preferred.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in management, supervisory, or administrative experience.
- A degree in Business Administration or Liberal Arts preferred, but not required.
- Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, medical professionals, and the general public
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
- Must demonstrate high integrity, high motivation, and clear leadership skills
- Must be able to set clear goals and objectives for subordinates (share a vision of success)
- Must be able to hold self and others accountable at a high level
- Should be inclined to recognize and reward others for work well done
- Must be able to provide encouragement and support for coworkers and direct reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of competency with budgeting, reporting, and scheduling
- Computer competency important and necessary
