About the Role


As a Caregiver you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing compassionate and personalized care. Your primary focus will be to support individuals with their daily living activities while ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. You will monitor and document vital signs and implement infection control protocols to promote health and prevent complications. This role requires a patient-centered approach, strong observational skills, and the ability to respond promptly to changing client needs. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to creating a supportive environment that fosters independence and well-being for those under your care.


Job Responsibilities



  • Assists with client’s personal care which includes bathing, partial bathing, oral hygiene, hair care including clipping of hair, shaving, hand and foot care, intact skin care, application of cosmetics, dressing.

  • Assists with mobility, which includes proper body mechanics, transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices.

  • Assists with toileting which includes assistance with bedpan, bedside commode, toilet; in continent or involuntary care, emptying of urine collection and colostomy bags.

  • Transport clients to and from appointments as needed safely and efficiently.

  • Assists with feeding clients and always provides water to clients.

  • Assists with meal planning, meal preparation and clean-up.

  • Help maintain neatness and cleanliness in clients’ homes by keeping rooms, kitchen, closets, wardrobes, and tables organized. Performs cleaning of wheelchairs, safety equipment, etc. as needed.

  • Assist clients to self-administer medications and assist with correspondence and bill paying

  • Follows infection control procedures and safety rules while performing duties.

  • Treats clients with compassion and respects their privacy and dignity.

  • Immediately report unusual occurrences, significant changes in client behavior/condition, sad or angry behavior or decreased social interaction by client, and reports client complaints to Supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Must be 18 years old

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and provide proof of auto insurance.

  • Familiarity with infection control standards and procedures.

  • Basic computer literacy to document care and communicate effectively.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience working as a caregiver or in a healthcare setting.

  • Additional training in specialized care areas such as dementia or palliative care.

  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.



SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS


Maintains good attendance and attends mandatory inservice training meetings. Is able to work overtime, evenings, and weekends occasionally to deliver department services. Has sufficient hearing to hear the conversational voice and adequate near and far vision to assist residents.
